Synopsis:
Early 1960s, a shantytown just outside Paris. A handful of families survive under hastily built shelters amid incredible misery and daily violence. One man, Father Joseph Wrésinski, decides to live among those he calls “his people”. Jacques and his family are among those who live there. His life will be transformed by meeting Father Joseph. Not only his life, but the lives of all those who join the struggle alongside this revolutionary priest. A struggle against assistance and charity that, he says, “strip the poor of their dignity.”
