Synopsis:
Each year, thousands of people cross the oceans to dance the tango in Buenos Aires. Between 50 and 70 years of age, they expose themselves to the often cruel analysis of Argentinian dancers. What are they looking for, and what do they get out of this adventure? Maurice Amaraggi and Françoise Lerusse followed them for two months and shared in their emotions, their joys and sometimes their disappointments. Above all, the film shows their pleasure in experiencing the long nights of milongas, the warm abrazos, or embraces, that are unique to Argentinians and the communion of dance. “Désir d’abrazo” is also an indirect portrait of our European and North American societies.
