- Synopsis:
- Founded by Abie Nathan, the offshore radio “Kol Hashalom” (Voice of Peace) broadcast continually
for 20 years – from 1973 to 1993 – from a cargo ship anchored in international waters a few
miles off the coast of Tel Aviv, transmitting its message of peace to the Middle East along with
music presented by top British DJs.
For over 50 years, Abie Nathan devoted his life to peace in the Middle East. Long before the “age
of internet” and its role in revolutionary movements against the powers that be, he understood the
power of technology and mass media for spreading his message and obtaining his goals.
