Synopsis:
Avoiding the fascinated view of the Middle East, the negative discourse that feeds western conscience, “Enfants des pierres” takes a look at the daily lives of young men and women in the city of Jéricho, Palestine (West Bank). Today, being twenty years old in Palestine is to have arrived afterwards. It means occupying this unique position as heirs of a time, culture, country that you have never really known. How do you live in a country of lost legends? And on which identity can you count when daily life thrusts itself on the shifting sands of a faltering memory? How do you build your history without disappearing behind myths? Oscillating between observations of daily life and evocations of their dream, this mosaic-style film paints a portrait of an active and daring generation.
