Synopsis:
The documentary Grands travaux takes place in Anneessens Funck, a Dutch secondary vocational school in the Anneessens district in Brussels. Our interest goes primarily to the teenage pupils and their relationship with Brussels. In a big city like Brussels a classroom is inevitably a place where different lifes and worlds come together, and one feels certain dynamics that reflect the city. Through the school, young people try to anchor in a society, learn a language, and - as is the case with Anneessens Funck - a profession. A documentary about the school, about Brussels and its youth.
