Synopsis:
This is the first episode in a series of three documentaries about Rimbaud’s second flight from Charleville to Charleroi. In residence at the Maison des Ailleurs, where Rimbaud once lived in Charleville, the filmmaker tries to understand the motivations behind this second attempt to run away from home, as well as the ingredients of the political radicalisation that transformed the young communicant of 1866 into the author of Tartufe’s Punishment four years later. In doing so, he meets several witnesses and actors in the permanence of Rimbaud’s Charleville and discovers an unpublished text from the poet’s hand.
