Synopsis:
Through the journey of the Liege-based trade unionist André Renard, this film explores the history of the Belgian labour movement from the 1930s to the General Strike in the winter of 1960. From the founding of the FGTB to his role as strike leader during the Occupation and as trade union leader during the Royal Question events, the film profiles a politically committed man and examines his federalist policies, which led to profound institutional changes in Belgium.
