TIFF 2012

Three French-speaking Belgian films and two coproductions, supported by the "Centre du Cinéma et de l'Audiovisuel", will represent Wallonia-Brussels at the Toronto International Film Festival, which will be held to 6 from 16 september 2012.

Kinshasa Kids, Marc-Henri Wajnberg's second feature, which premiered in Venice (Venice Days), will be presented the next week in Toronto in the Contemporary World Cinema section. Shot in the Streets of Kinshasa with amateur actors, the film tells the story of eight children who are regarded as sorcerers and who form a rap group in order to escape their fate.

Produced by Wajnbrosse, the film will release in Belgium beginning 2013. International sales are handled by MK2.

, Jonas d'Adesky's debut feature produced by Hélicotronc will world premiere in the Contemporary World Cinema section. The film is about Vitaleme, Pierre and Mikenson who are twelve years old and live in a home in Port-au-Prince. When the town is struck by an earthquake, all three of them find themselves on the street.

After Cannes in May, Ernest & Celestine, the second feature by Aubier and Patar, co-directed with the French Benjamin Renner, will have its first North American premiere in the TIFF Kids programme. The film is about the friendship between a small mouse who didn’t want to become a dentist and a great big bear who didn’t want to become a notary.

The film produced in Belgium by La Parti Production, will be released in Belgium (Cinéart) and in France (StudioCanal) in December. StudioCanal also manages the international sales.

Jessica Woodworth and Peter Brosens new feature, The Fifth Season, which will compete for the Golden Lion, will be presented in the Wavelengths section.

Coproduced by Entre Chien et Loup and distributed in Belgium by Imagine Films Distribution, the film is sold worldwide by Films Boutique.

After Cannes, Rust & Bone by Jacques Audiard, coproduced by les Films du Fleuve, is now heading to Canada. The film will be presented in the Special Presentations programme.

The film is sold worldwide by Celluloid Dreams.
