Two Belgian feature films at Les Arcs Film Festival

Duelles (Mothers’ Instinct) and The mercy of the jungle will be presented at 10th Les Arcs Film Festival.

Les Arcs Film Festival has revealed its official selection this Tuesday November 7th. French-speaking Belgium will be represented with Duelles (Mothers’ Instinct) by Olivier Masset-Depasse and The Mercy of the Jungle, directed by Joel Karekezi.

Duelles, directed by Olivier Masset-Depasse, tells the traumatic confrontation of two women, Alice and Céline, who were the best of friends until a tragic event threw their lives into turmoil.

Produced by Versus Production, this feature film will be presented in the « Playtime » section, dedicated to films which show that European cinema is doing well and exploring the genre.

The Mercy of the Jungle tells us about Sergeant Xavier, a Rwandese hero of war, and the young and unexperimented private Faustin. In the middle of the Kivu jungle in Congo, they are in enemy territory where they wage a blurry war. When the two men lose their battalion, they are left alone without resources, lost in the inextricable Congolese jungle, known to be the widest, thickest and most dangerous in the continent.

Produced by Neon Rouge Production, Joel Karekezi’s film will be presented in the « Hauteur » section, dedicated to author's cinema, at its peak! A selection of daring films with contemporary and moving subjects and questions.

These two films have been supported by the Centre du Cinéma et de l’Audiovisuel of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation.

The 10th edition of the Arc Film Festival will take place December 15 to 22.
