9 Belgian french-speaking films at FESPACO 2019

FESPACO has revealed its official selection for the 2019 edition of the festival. Many films from Wallonia Brussels will be presented. 

Among the films in competition at this 26th edition of FESPACO, The Mercy of the Jungle directed by Joel Karekezi and produced by Neon Rouge Production, which will compete for the Best feature film. In competition for the Best Feature Documentary, When Arabs danced by Jawad Rhalib and produced by R&R Productions.

Co-produced by Tandôr Productions and GSARAR, the documentary Chez Jolie Coiffure by Rosine Mbakam tells us Sabine's migratory journey and will be presented in the Panorama feature film category.

Finally, the Discoveries section will be rich in Belgian french-speaking productions since 6 films are part of the selection :
- Enfants du hasard by Thierry Michel and Pascal Colson (Les Films de la Passerelle)
- Je n’aime plus la mer by ​​Idriss Gabel (The Movies of the Footbridge)
- Congo Lucha by Marlène Rabaud (Free Spirit Production)
- Le ministre des poubelles by Quentin Noirfalisse (Dancing Dog Productions)
- Boli Bana by Simon Gillard (Hélicotronc)
- La prochaine fois que je viendrai au monde by Philippe de Pierpont (Dérives asbl)

Created in 1969 in Ouagadougou at the initiative of a group of film lovers, the Panafrican Film and Television Festival is one of the largest African film festivals. Organized every two years in Ouagadougou, its 26th edition will take place from February 23 to March 2nd and will mark 50 years of existence.
