A Belgian film competing for the Eurimages Lab Project Award

Bula, a Belgian film by Boris Baum, has been selected at Karlovy Vary to compete for the Eurimages Lab Project Award.

The Karlovy Vary International Film Festival unveiled today its selection of film projects of Eastern Promises. They are several programs offering the possibility to directors and producers to professionals in order to find collaborators. There are eight programs: Works in Progress, First Cut+ Works in Progress, Docs in Progress, Works in Development - Feature Launch and Eurimages Lab Project Award. Bula by Boris Baum (Les Films de la Récré), a Brazil-Belgium co-production, is selected to compete for the Eurimages Lab Project Award.

The winner of the Eurimages Lab Project Award will be announced on July 8th.

"Marcelo, 17, lives confined to his teenage bedroom. So far, his days have been divided between his scientific research, his black metal solo band and his mother. One day, however, two events shake up his daily life: his failure on his final exam and the mysterious death of his father, Ziad, a famous anthropologist in Brazil. Determined to investigate his disappearance, he and his uncle embark on an adventure between electrifying cities and the Amazon."
