WFFM 2012 : films selected

Four Belgian films, one French-speaking, two coproductions and one short film, all supported by the 'Centre du Cinéma et de l'Audiovisuel', will be presented at the Montreal World Film Festival, which will be held from 23th August to 3rd September.

The World Belongs to Us by Stephan Streker, produced by MG Productions, will be presented in the Focus on World Cinema section. The film shows the parallel destiny of these two young men, Pouga and Julien, who resemble each other but who have never met. They share the same values and a thirst for the absolute. They could be friends. And yet...

The film will be released in Belgium in November.

The last Patrice Toye's feature, coproduced by Versus, Little Black Spiders is about the beauty and strength of unexpected friendships. The film will have its first worldpremiere in this section.

Tom Heene's debut feature, Welcome Home, will be presented in First Films World Competition. Produced by Minds Meet and coproduced by La Parti, the film shows three important moments in the life of Lila, a young woman in search of identity.

The film will also be presented at Venice International Film Critics' Week, an independent section of the Venice International Film Festival.

The Lobster's Cry by Nicolas Guiot continues his career in festivals and will be presented in the Focus on World Cinema section - Shorts.

Co-produced by Hélicotronc, the film tells the story of Natalia, six year old, recently arrived in France with her parents from their native Russia, who has been impatiently awaiting her brother’s return from fighting in Chechnya.
