FILS DE PLOUC Selected at SUNDANCE

The world premiere of Mother Schmuckers, a wacky comedy based in Brussels directed by Lenny and Harpo Guit will be screened at Sundance the Mecca of American independent cinema.

Produced by Roue Libre Production, the film is supported by the Cinema Centre of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation via a small film grant, which were launched in 2017 to support small budget films.

Brothers Lenny and Harpo Guit are known for their YouTube channel. They made several shorts before embarking on this, their first feature with a cast of mainly debut actors, supported by some famous names such as Mathieu Amalric.

The film is set in modern-day Brussels and tells the story of two 20-year-old brothers who although monumentally stupid, are never bored. When they lose their mother’s cherished dog Jacques-Janvier, they have 24 hours to find him or she’s kicking them out!

Besides being one of the world’s major film festivals, Sundance is America’s main independent cinema festival hosting over 45,000 spectators a year. It is held in Park City and Salt Lake City in Utah every year.

The dates for the 2021 festival are from January 20 to February 3.

The world premiere of Fils de Plouc will be screened in the prestigious Midnight section.
