Lanners and du Welz new films selected at TIFF

Nobody Has to Know by Bouli Lanners and Tim Mielants is selected at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). Fabrice du Welz's Inexorable starring Benoît Poelvoorde will have its premiere in the Special Presentations.

The famous Canadian film festival has announced its film selection for its 46th edition. The Toronto International Film Festival is one of the most important film festivals in the world, both in media coverage and in presence of industry professionals from all around the world.

The new film of Bouli Lanners co-directed by Tim Mielants Nobody Has to Know starring Bouli Lanners and Michelle Fairley is selected in the Contemporary World Cinema section. The film is produced by Versus production with the help of Centre du Cinéma et de l'Audiovisuel de la Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles.

Also, the new film of Fabrice du Welz Inexorable starring Benoît Poelvoorde, Mélanie Doutey et Alba Gaia Bellugi will premiere in the Special Presentations. The film is produced by Frakas Productions and benefited from the help of Centre du Cinéma et de l'Audiovisuel de la Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles.

"After the resounding success of his first novel Inexorable, Marcel Bellmer never really managed to deal with success. Years later and after a devastating depression, together with his wife and editor Jeanne Drahi, his daughter Lucie and their dog Ulysse, he moves into the posh property of his recently deceased father-in-law. That’s when Gloria is hired as a cleaner. Young and fragile, she shakes Marcel to his core. As she moves into the property, Marcel feels more alive. However, as Gloria gradually gets close to him, Marcel feels a terrible secret resurfacing that if it were found out could make him lose everything"

Also, Titane by Julia Ducournau, co-produced by Frakas Productions, is the opening film of the Midnight Madness program while Where Is Anne Frank? by Ari Folman, co-produced by Magellan Films, will feature in the Special Presentations program.

The 46th edition of the Toronto International Film Festival will take place from the 9th to the 18th of September 2021.
