Inexorable by Fabrice du Welz at Busan International Film Festival

The Busan International Film Festival has announced its film selection for its 2021 edition. In the Open Cinema section, there is Inexorable by Fabrice du Welz.

Next stop: Busan for Inexorable by Fabrice du Welz, produced by Frakas Productions, selected in the Open Cinema section, which gathers acclaimed films that offer an ideal mix of the popular with the artistic.

"After the resounding success of his first novel Inexorable, Marcel Bellmer never really managed to deal with success. Years later and after a devastating depression, together with his wife and editor Jeanne Drahi, his daughter Lucie and their dog Ulysse, he moves into the posh property of his recently deceased father-in-law. That’s when Gloria is hired as a cleaner. Young and fragile, she shakes Marcel to his core. As she moves into the property, Marcel feels more alive. However, as Gloria gradually gets close to him, Marcel feels a terrible secret resurfacing that if it were found out could make him lose everything."

International sales are handled by Playtime.

Frakas Productions is well represented in Busan this year because in the selected films, there are three co-productions from Wallonia-Brussels amongst which two by Frakas. Titane by Julia Ducournau is in the World Cinema section and Onoda, 10 000 Nights in the Jungle by Arthur Harari is in the Flash Forward section. Both these films are co-produced by Frakas Productions. Finally, in the Icons section, there is Lingui, the Sacred Bonds by Mahamat-Saleh Haroun co-produced by Beluga Tree.

All these films have been made with the support of Centre du Cinéma et de l'Audiovisuel de la Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles.

The Busan International Film Festival will take place form October 6 to 15.
