"A perdre la raison" at Un Certain regard

Joachim Lafosse, whose Elève Libre attracted worldwide attention at the 2008 Director’s Fortnight, will be back in Cannes this year with A perdre la raison, as part of Un Certain Regard Selection.

A perdre la raison, the fifth film of this talented filmmaker will feature Emilie Dequenne, Tahar Rahim and Niels Arestrup.
This Versus production was supported by the Centre du Cinéma et de l’Audiovisuel and will be released in Belgian theatres on May 30th. French distributor Les Films du Losange, who will release the film in theatres in France on September 5, will also handle the international sales.

Jacques Audiard’s latest, De rouille et d’os, a Films du Fleuve (Luc & Jean-Pierre Dardenne) co-production, also received Centre du Cinéma et de l’Audiovisuel support and will compete for the 2012 Palme d'Or. Following the Grand Prix du Jury for Un prophète (2009), expectations obviously run high. The film features Bouli Lanners, Matthias Schoenaerts and Marion Cotillard.

Les Films du Fleuve will have yet another film in Official Competition: Beyond the Hills by Cristian Mungiu, winner of the coveted Palme d’Or with 4 Months, 3 Weeks, 2 Days in 2007.

The selections for the 2012 Director’s Fortnight and the Critics’ Week are to be announced on April 23rd and 24th.
