A César award for Solo Rex?

Will Helicotronc hit the winning streak again two years after Le cri du Homard? François Bierry’s short film Solo Rex has been selected to run for the 2015 César awards.

The short film committee of the Académie des Arts et Techniques du Cinéma selected the 12 short films which will be in the running for the 2015 César for best short film.

The short list includes the French-Belgian film Solo Rex by François Bierry. This Hélicotronc - Ultime Razzia co-production features Wim Willaert as Erik, a solitary lumberjack. And there is Kevin (Lucas Moreau), the young conductor of the village’s bicycle brass band. Erik never leaves his house without his old mare. Kevin is head-over-heels with the clarinettist. The clarinettist fancies mares. But Erik does not know how to give and Kevin does not know how to make a pass. They will have to learn together.

The 40th Césars ceremony will be hosted by Dany Boon and is scheduled February 20, 2015 at the Paris Théâtre du Châtelet.
