Birds of Passage by Olivier and Yves Ringer takes International Jury Award at Buster Film Festival (Copenhagen)

Friday September 25th, during the Awards ceremony at the Buster Film Festival of Copenhagen Birds of Passage by Olivier and Yves Ringer won the International Jury Award.

 Birds of passage follows the initiatory journey of Cathy. For her tenth birthday she receives an egg to hatch. When a duckling breaks through the shell in the presence of Cathy’s best friend, the bird is convinced that the little girl, Margaux, is its mother. But Margaux is not capable of caring for the duckling. She is in a wheelchair and will soon be moving to a specialized institution. Her parents decide to get rid of the bird. But when Cathy and Margaux discover that the duck will probably end up as canned food, they set out on an adventure during which they will discover more about themselves than about saving web-footed friends.

This award may be added to a long list amongst which the Grand Prize of the Zlin Festival, the Grand Prize of the Montreal Children Film Festival, the Grand Prize of th Jury of the Kineko Film Festival of Tokyo and the Jury Special Prize of the Giffoni Film Festival.

Buster Film Festival is one one the best children film festivals in Europe and most important of Denmark.
