Bouli Lanners back in Berlin with "Les premiers les derniers"

LES PREMIERS LES DERNIERS , fourth feature film by Bouli Lanners, has been selected in the prestigious Panorama section at the 66th International Film Festival of Berlin that will be held from the 11th to the 21st of February 2016. The selection marks the return of the Belgian filmmaker to Berlin where he had presented ULTRANOVA, his first feature film, in 2005.

Bouli Lanners has travelled all around the festival world ever since his short film TRAVELLINCKX in 1999. Two years later, his short MUNO was selected to the Directors' Fortnight in Cannes. In 2005, his first feature film, ULTRANOVA won an award at the Berlin Film Festival. His second feature film ELDORADO scooped three awards from the 2008 Cannes Film Festival where it was presented during the Directors' Fortnight. In 2011, his third feature film THE GIANTS was chosen as closing film for the Directors' Fortnight in Cannes and walked away with two awards.

Produced by Jacques-Henri and Olivier Bronckart for Versus Production, LES PREMIERS LES DERNIERS assembles a prestigious cast: Bouli Lanners, Albert Dupontel, Suzanne Clement, Michael Lonsdale and David Murgia.

On an infinite windswept plain, two inseparable bounty hunters, Cochise and Gilou, are on a quest to find a stolen phone containing sensitive material. They cross paths with Esther and Willy, a couple on the run.
And what if it was the end of the world? In this forgotten town where everyone fails, can they rediscover human nature at its best? These may be the last men but they are not very different from the first.

LES PREMIERS LES DERNIERS will be presented in Berlin in the presence of Bouli Lanners. The film is to be released in French theaters on January 27th (Wild Bunch) and in Belgian theaters on February 24th (O'brother). LES PREMIERS LES DERNIERS received support from the Centre du Cinéma et de l’Audiovisuel de la Fédération Wallonie Bruxelles, and from Wallimage, RTBF and VOO.
