"Back to School" awarded in Annecy

During the closing ceremony of the Annecy Animation Festival held on the 18th of June, Back to School by Vincent Patar and Stéphane Aubier won the Jury Award for a TV special.

After only two festivals, this is the third prize for the film following the Grand Prix and the Audience Award at the New York International Children’s Film Festival last March.

Back to School is the second 26-minute special made by the creators of Panique au Village , following La buche de Noël in 2014. In the same inventive and wacky style, this short film produced for television continues to follow the adventures of Cowboy and Indian. The two old friends are all set to take off on an extravagant luxury cruise, but they’ve got things mixed up: they totally forgot that today is the first day of school! So long exotic islands…

Produced by Panique ! Back to School was supported by the Centre du Cinéma et de l’Audiovisuel de la Fédération Wallonie Bruxelles, Wallimage, RTBF, Be Tv and France Télévision. International sales are handled by Autour de Minuit. French release will be handled by Gebeka Distribution. The Belgian distributor is yet to be announced.
