Thomas de Thier directs Michel Picoli and Natasha Parry in "Le Goût des Myrtilles"
Thomas de Thier's film crew has just landed in Luxembourg for a few
weeks, to wrap up shooting on his latest film, Le Goût des Myrtilles. Shooting started in Brussels at the end of May.

The director's first film, Feathers in My Head (2004), was a discreet, poetic work about life after the death of a child. Selected for the Directors' Fortnight in Cannes and praised by the critics, the film introduced the public to a singular filmmaker whose relationship with nature is at the heart of his work, and who films by slight strokes just like an impressionist painter.
His second feature, Le Goût des Myrtilles, is an initiatory journey, with hints of a journey of no return, a road movie, a love story, a film about mourning, and an ode to nature -- all this and more wrapped up in one. An elderly couple in their eighties with a mixed past escape into a fantastic world, full of their desires and fears, the door to which is a motorway rest area and their son's tombstone. Having lost the keys to their car, they walk down into the woods together, then apart, to better find themselves and each other. In Le Goût des Myrtilles, De Thier has brought together Michel Piccoli and Natasha Parry, who already appeared together in The Prodigal Daughter by Jacques Doillon (1981), and more recently on stage in Your Hand in Mine, a Chekhov play directed by Peter Brook.
Le Goût des Myrtilles is produced by Novak Prod (who produced The Buffalo Boy and On the road again, le cinéma de Bouli Lanners, and co-produced The Hot Potato and Outside the Law) and co-produced by Red Lion (Luxembourg). The film has received support from the Belgian French Community's Film and Audiovisual Centre and from the Film Fund Luxembourg. It should premiere at the beginning of 2013.
