Festival international du film fantastique de Gérardmer
Since 1994, Gérardmer has hosted the International Fantastic Film Festival, a major event in the 7th art, recognised by both professionals and the general public. The festival takes place during the last week of January and offers 50 films for 110 screenings, including some forty new releases and previews, as well as retrospectives devoted to directors or focusing on a particular theme.
The films are screened in their original version with French subtitles. The programme, which is representative of international production, offers a varied range of works in the fantasy genre, from independent works to studio films. A selection combining quality and novelty. The event, a major annual meeting of the genre, allows the various actors of the film industry to meet: directors, distributors, journalists, professionals... but also allows the public to discover original and unreleased works. In addition to the film screenings, the festival offers a large number of free events in the city (exhibitions, concerts, literary fair, youth area, meetings, conferences and educational workshops, make-up stands, showcase competition, etc.).
