At the beginning of the year 2000, the workshop of Alexandre Obolensky is working on a canvass for the Monnaie Opera, based upon a drawing by John MacFarlane. How can the artist’s brush stroke, within a 30 centimetre frame, be reproduced over an expanse of 10 metres by so many hands?
