A woodcutter is working in the forest. A brief moment of carelessnesscombines with sheer bad luck to make a tree fall on him and trap himin a swamp.He is powerless and liable to drown. This distress stirs an animal reactionin the very depths of him which is portrayed visually througha physical transformation. His anger causes him to metamorphoseinto a bear, fury turns him into a wild boar and panic into a partridge.
