Trial of a Young Poet

Film informations

Philippe Van Cutsem

In 1964, the poet Joseph Brodsky, then 24 years old, was accused of social parasitism by the Soviet regime. At the end of his trial, Brodsky was sentenced to five years of hard labour and exile in the northern part of Russia.
Based on the detailed account of the trial recorded by journalist Frida Vigdorova, the film revisits this historical episode, which caused a major stir at the time.
