Two French-speaking Belgian films at the San Sebastián Film Festival!

For its 73rd edition, the San Sebastián International Film Festival has selected two French-speaking Belgian films: “Six Days This Spring” and “My Mother Sleeps”.

Founded in 1953, the San Sebastián International Film Festival has become one of Europe’s most important film events. Every September, the Basque capital hosts world premieres, retrospectives, and an official competition whose prestigious Golden Shell honors the best film. It is also a meeting place for established filmmakers and emerging voices, where the glamour of the red carpet blends with a genuine passion for both arthouse and popular cinema.

Two years after presenting his film A Silence, Joachim Lafosse returns to the SSFF with his new feature Six Days This Spring in the Official Selection. This will also be the film’s world premiere. It was produced by Stenola Productions and is represented internationally by Les Films du Losange.

Despite adversity, Sana wants her twins to have a spring vacation, but all her plans fall through. They secretly decide to stay in her former in-laws' villa on the Riviera, without telling anyone. Six days of sunshine that mark the end of innocence.

Meanwhile, Moana Son’s graduation short film My Mother Sleeps has been selected for the Nest section. The film was produced at INSAS.

A child, a hen house, dead leaves, a cake and a mother struggling with existence.

Let us also mention the co-production supported by the Centre du Cinéma et de l’Audiovisuel: Diego Céspedes’ The Mysterious Gaze of the Flamingo, co-produced by Wrong Men, which will screen in the Horizontes Latinos section.

See you in San Sebastián from September 19 to 27 to discover these films!
