IDFA 2025: Several Belgian Films on the Program!
The next edition of IDFA has selected “Those Who Watch Over” and Rashid, the Boy from Sinjar”.
Every autumn, Amsterdam becomes the world capital of documentary cinema with IDFA – International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam. This unmissable festival celebrates diversity, creativity, and the power of reality through films from around the globe. IDFA is much more than a simple screening: it is a place for meetings, debates, and emotions, where filmmakers, professionals, and audiences explore together the major issues of our time through the unique lens of documentary cinema.
In the International Competition section, we find Karima Saïdi’s documentary Those Who Watch Over. The film is produced by Dérives.
Meanwhile, Jasna Krajinovič’s documentary Rashid, the Boy from Sinjar is featured in the Best of Fests section. The film is produced by Hélicotronc.
We should also highlight the presence of numerous co-productions supported by the CCA: Wishful Filming by Sarah Vanagt in the Signed section (Michigan Films);Liti Liti by Mamadou Khouma Gueye in the Best of Fests section (Twenty Nine Studio & Production); Air Horse One by Lasse Linder in the Competition for Short Documentaries (White Boat Picture); and finally, Imago by Déni Oumar Pitsaev, also in Best of Fests (Need Productions).
