IndieLisboa 2026: Three Belgian Films in the program
The 23rd edition of the festival will feature three short films "Buda", "Rio Remains Beautiful", and "The Other Planet" as well as two co-productions.
IndieLisboa is a major film event in Portugal dedicated to independent cinema, both national and international. It takes place every year in Lisbon and highlights bold, innovative films by emerging filmmakers. The festival offers a diverse program including feature and short films, documentaries, animated films, as well as thematic sections and activities for children.
The student short film Buda by Raphaël Kaddour, recently awarded with two prizes at the Clermont-Ferrand Short Film Festival, has been selected for the International Competition. The film is produced by MédiaDiffusion.
In the same section, Rio Remains Beautiful, the second short film by Felipe Casanova, will also be screened. The film was produced by Felipe Casanova and Un Point Bleu Pâle, with international sales handled by MoreThan Films.
The film The Other Planet, created by ten children during a filmmaking workshop with Camera-etc, will be presented in the IndieJúnior section of the Portuguese festival.
We should also highlight the selection of two co-productions supported by the Centre du Cinéma et de l’Audiovisuel: Loynes by Dorian Jespers, in the International Competition and co-produced by Wrong Men, as well as Olivia and the Invisible Earthquake by Irène Iborra, co-produced by Panique!, in the IndieJúnior section.
Congratulations as well to La Boîte,… Productions, co-producer of the film Found! by Juliette Baily, which is included in the IndieJúnior section.
The IndieLisboa festival will take place from April 30 to May 10, 2026, in Lisbon.
