The Académie des César has unveiled its 2023 Revelations list. Among the 16 actors and 16 actresses selected is the Belgian actress Joely Mbundu, for her role as Lokita in the Dardenne brothers' latest film.
On 16 November, the Revelations committee of the Académie des Arts et Techniques du Cinéma (Academy of Cinema Arts and Techniques) met to produce the list of Revelations for 2023. An initial list of 16 actors and 16 actresses, in the running for the Césars for most promising actor and most promising actress respectively, was announced shortly after. Among the actresses selected for this initial list is the Belgian actress Joely Mbundu, appearing in Tori and Lokita, directed by Jean-Pierre and Luc Dardenne.
Joely Mbundu was already seen last May on the steps at Cannes, with the rest of the team, to present the film. The Lokita actress will now take part, along with the 31 other talents in the 2023 Revelations list, in a short film, directed this year by Audrey Diwan, which will be unveiled on 16 January.
The 48th César Awards will take place on 24 February.
