The Göteborg International Film Festival has just announced the selection of six French-speaking Belgian films!

“The Baronesses”, “Mother”, “Young Mothers”, “Six Days in Spring”, “Adam’s Sake”, and “Wild Foxes” will be screened at the 49th edition of the festival.

The Göteborg Film Festival is the leading film festival in Scandinavia and, with nearly 200,000 visitors each year, one of the most important film festivals in the world. The city of Göteborg has also set itself the goal of becoming a key meeting place for the Nordic audiovisual sector. With this aim in mind, the Nordic Film Market was launched in 2000 and is now recognized as the largest marketplace dedicated to new Nordic films.

Following its world premiere in Tallinn, The Baronesses by Nabil Ben Yadir & Mokhtaria Badaoui will be presented in the International Competition. The film is produced by 10.80 Films.

Mother by Teona Strugar Mitevska has been selected for the Gala section. The film is produced by Entre Chien Et Loup and is sold internationally by Kinology.

In the Masters section, Young Mothersby Jean-Pierre Dardenne and Luc Dardenne will be screened. The film is produced by Les Films du Fleuve and sold internationally by Goodfellas.

Three films are featured in the Voyage section:Six Days in Spring by Joachim Lafosse, produced by Stenola Productions and sold internationally by Les Films du Losange; Adam’s Sake by Laura Wandel, produced by Les Films du Fleuve and Dragon Films and sold internationally by Indie Sales; and finally Wild Foxes by Valéry Carnoy, produced by Hélicotronc and sold internationally by The Party Film Sales.

We would also like to highlight the presence of French-speaking Belgian co-productions supported by the CCA: Calle Malagaby Maryam Touzani (Velvet Films), selected for the International Competition; Julian by Cato Kusters (Les Films du Fleuve), featured in the Voyage section; and Green Border by Agnieszka Holland (Beluga Tree), presented as part of the Honorary Dragon Award.
