Emmanuel Marre's new film at Busan!
The Belgian-French film will be at the Busan International Film Festival (BIFF).
A Man of His Time by Emmanuel Marre continues its festival run with a selection at the Busan International Film Festival (BIFF). The director's second feature will screen in the Flash Forward program. It is a Michigan Films production, with international sales handled by Charades Films.
This selection is joined by no fewer than five films coproduced by Wallonia-Brussels companies and supported by the Centre du Cinéma of the Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles. The highly anticipated Coward by Lukas Dhont, which will represent Belgium at the Oscars, will be presented in the Icons section. The film is coproduced, on the French-speaking side, by Versus Production. Actors Valentin Campagne and Emmanuel Macchia were recently awarded the Best Actor prize at the Cannes Film Festival. Also selected in the Icons section: All of A Sudden by Japanese director Ryūsuke Hamaguchi, starring Virginie Efira and coproduced by Tarantula and Gapbusters. Virginie Efira won the Best Actress prize at the Cannes Film Festival, shared with actress Tao Okamoto. Also featured is Parallel Tales by Iranian director Asghar Farhadi. Coproduced in Belgium by Panache Productions and La Compagnie Cinématographique, this French-language film stars Virginie Efira among its cast.
Iron Boy, an animated film by Louis Clichy coproduced in Belgium by Beside Productions, has just been selected in the World Cinema section alongside another Belgian coproduction: In Waves by Phuong Mai Nguyen, coproduced by Panique.
