"Summer Meadow" and "Revolutionaries Never Die" at Locarno!
Two productions from Wallonia Brussels will premiere at the 79th edition of the Locarno Film Festival.
Summer Meadow, the new film by Naël Khleifi, co-written with Lisa Debauche, will have its world premiere at the Locarno Film Festival. This debut fiction feature will be presented in the Concorso Cineasti del Presente competition. It is produced by Michigan Films.
The director previously made two documentaries, Waiting (2011) and Alps (2021).
Mohanad Yaqubi's new film, Revolutionaries Never Die will have its world premiere in the Concorso Cineasti del Presente competition. It is produced by Sourat Films.
Also selected is a co-production supported by the Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles, Les Yeux Verts by Fanny Liatard and Jérémy Trouilh (Les Films du Fleuve), which will open the Swiss festival.
It should also be noted that Belgian director Fabrice du Welz will preside the International Competition jury, and that Virginie Efira will receive the Leopard Club Award at this 79th edition.
The festival will take place from August 5 to August 15, 2026.
