Launched eleven years ago by European Film Promotion (EFP) and the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival (KVIFF), the Future Frames programme continues to serve as a steadfast springboard for emerging European directing talent.
Young filmmaker Mila Ryngaert has been selected for the Future Frames program, organized by the European Film Promotion and the Karlovy Vary Film Festival! She is one of ten recent graduates from European film schools honored through this talent promotion initiative. Her graduation short film, Karaocoeur, will be screened during the 59th edition of the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival.
Twenty-year-old Lucette works at a karaoke bar. Besides the bar’s song-happy customers, she is kept company by her fairy, who wants nothing but the best for Lucette. But careful! One evening, Diana enters the bar, and Lucette’s world is turned upside down. Is there a song on the karaoke list capable of describing the return of a long-lost love? And what about the fairy? Will she break her magic wand trying to help Lucette?
The Future Frames program will take place online from June 31 to July 1, and then in person at KVIFF from July 6 to 10, 2025!
