Several Belgian projects presented at Cartoon Movie 2025

Two Belgian productions and two coproductions projects in concept or in development will be pitched in Bordeaux at Cartoon Movie 2025

Cartoon Movie is a pitching and co-production forum for animated feature films. Over two days, producers have the opportunity to present their film projects to expedite funding, find co-producers, and attract international distributors.

Two Belgian projects are being presented this year for the 2025 edition:

Hyacinthe by Gerlando Infuso, in development, produced by Wrong Men.

In a once-harmonious village, young baker Hyacinthe discovers that his destiny is far greater than he ever imagined. On the eve of the annual ball, where he is expected to choose a life partner, he begins to feel a strange, plant-like growth inside him. Fleeing the fear and suspicion of the villagers, Hyacinthe sets off on an extraordinary journey.

Thyme Hill by Sarah Carlot Jaber, in concept, produced by Need Productions.

1976. East Beirut. In the midst of the Lebanese civil war, Issam struggles for survival inside the besieged camp of Tell al Zaatar. At just 18, he watches his ideals crumble. Fifty years later, he decides to tell Sarah, his daughter, the story of a siege that lasted fifty-five days.

Let’s also note the presence of two French-speaking Belgian co-productions:

Lou and the Glacier’s Secret by Frédéric Guillaume and Samuel Guillaume, in development, co-produced by Need Productions.

Lou, a 12-year-old goat, lives with her brother Koa and her mother Zoé, a storyteller, in a mountain hamlet. During the autumn migration, a storm sweeps Zoé away. Determined to find her, Lou ventures alone into the snowy heights, where she bonds with a mysterious creature who reveals the mountains secrets and the world of Spirits to her. This journey of initiation unveils Lou as the new storyteller, ready to carry on her mother's traditions and those of her community.

The Songbirds’ Secret by Antoine Lanciaux, in "sneak preview," co-produced by Dragons Films.

When 9-year-old Lucie arrives at Bectoile for the vacations, she has no idea of the adventures ahead. Her mother, Caroline, is leading an archaeological dig in the region with her colleague Pierrot. Bectoile is also the town where Caroline grew up, and the scene of a family secret... which Lucie is about to unveil! With the help of her new friend Yann and a very special pair of songbirds, Lucie is determined to delve into her family story. From the underground of a ruined castle to a camper van parked on the edge of the woods, this adventure will lead them from unusual surprises to fabulous discoveries !

See you in Bordeaux from March 4 to 6, 2025!
