Four Belgian films at the New York International Children's Film Festival 2026!

The upcoming edition of the NYICFF welcomes four Belgian films: “Clara Takes the Wheel,” “Autokar,” “Prout,” and “Cloud Fish.”

The New York International Children's Film Festival (NYICFF) was founded in 1997 to promote intelligent, passionate, and thought-provoking cinematic works for audiences aged 3 to 18, and to help shape more engaging cinema for children. Since its launch, the event has become the largest festival for children and teens in North America, attracting more than 20,000 attendees at its most recent edition. The festival has grown far beyond a single annual event; NYICFF now offers year-round film programming, a traveling festival, an online festival, and filmmaking workshops for children aged 6 to 16.

The short film Clara Takes the Wheel, directed by Sara Dufossé, will be featured in the Girl’s POV section. The film is produced by Velvet Films.

In the Short Films Three section, audiences will find Autokar by Sylwia Szkiłądź. This animated short film, recently shortlisted for the Oscars, is produced by OZÙ Productions and internationally distributed by Miyu Distribution.

Prout, directed by Marc Henri Wajnberg and produced by Wajnbrosse Productions, is included in the Short Films One section.

Meanwhile, Cloud Fish by Noé Garcia has been selected for Shorts for Tots. The film is produced by La Boîte… Productions.

Also noteworthy is the selection of a co-production supported by the Centre du Cinéma et de l’Audiovisuel: Mary Anning by Marcel Barelli, co-produced by La Boîte… Productions and Versus Production, featured in the Official Selection.

Congratulations as well to La Boîte… Productions, co-producer of Sketches on Ice by Marion Auvin, selected in the Shorts for Tots section.

The New York International Children's Film Festival will take place from February 28 to March 15, 2026!
