Three Belgian films are on the program at FIFA 2026 !

The 44th edition of the FIFA selected three Belgian titles, "The Watchman", "Out of the picture" and "Memories of a friend".

The Festival International du Film sur l’Art (FIFA) in Montréal, Canada is a renowned annual celebration of cinema and creativity dedicated to films about art and artistic expression. Founded in 1981, this prestigious event has grown into the largest festival of films on art in the world, offering a vibrant showcase of documentaries, artist portraits, experimental works, interactive pieces and more from dozens of countries.

Held each March across multiple venues in Montréal (with simultaneous presentations in Québec and an online component), FIFA brings together filmmakers, artists and audiences for a unique cultural experience that highlights the diversity, innovation and dialogue between art forms through the lens of cinema. Its rich programme also includes competitions, special screenings, professional events, discussions and exhibitions that explore the many intersections of art, film and society.

In the Official Selection - Feature Films section are two films: The Watchman by Lou Du Pontavice et Victoire Bonin Grais, produced by the CVB and sold internationally by CAT&Docs, as well as the film Out of the picture by An.Ash Smolar, produced by Thank You & Good Night productions .

Memories of a friend by Olivier smolders will be presented in the Official Selection - Short Films section. The film is produced by Les Films du Scarabée.

The festival will take place from March 12 to 29, 2026, in Montreal!
