A Belgian Short Film in Competition at Sheffield DocFest 2025!

The prestigious Sheffield DocFest has selected the Belgian short film "From The Mountain We See The Mountain" for the 32nd edition of its internationally renowned documentary festival.

Held annually in Sheffield, UK, Sheffield DocFest is one of the world’s leading festivals dedicated to documentary storytelling. It brings together filmmakers, industry professionals, and the general public for screenings, talks, workshops, and networking events. The festival showcases bold programming, spotlighting innovative, socially engaged, and creative works, while providing an essential platform for new voices in global documentary cinema.

The Belgian short film From The Mountain We See The Mountain, directed by Julian Garcia Long, will have its world premiere at the festival. It will be screened as part of the “Shorts: Resistance” programme and is also competing in the International Short Film Competition, alongside nine other titles from around the world. The film was produced by Dérvies and the SIC, Sound Image and Culture.

In the mist of the Patagonian Andes, an indigenous forest is recovering from a fire, with animals and humans emerging from a landscape scarred by colonisation.
