Zazarano follows two characters: Franco, a fisherman’s son who wants to find the father he never knew; and Macha, a young Belgian tourist who has come to Madagascar to observe the whales and escape the terrible drama she is going through. The film’s two main themes are the relationship between abandoned children and their parents, the link we have with «the magical, the invisible», the choices we make at the dawn of our adult lives, and the «toxic loyalties» between children and their parents.
