Looking back on "Mon Premier Cannes"

Four young Belgian actors had an unforgettable experience thanks to the "Mon Premier Cannes" initiative organized by Wallonie-Bruxelles Images with the support of Mastercard and Wallonie-Bruxelles International. For 48 intense hours, Sophie Breyer, Gianni Guettaf, Amine Hamidou, and Elsa Houben had the opportunity to immerse themselves in the excitement of the Cannes Film Festival and discover the behind-the-scenes of this iconic event.

Their adventure began with a visit to the film market at the Palais des Festivals, where they got acquainted with the workings of the film industry and had the chance to interact with industry professionals.

The young actors also had the opportunity to have a personal photoshoot and take home numerous pictures. They also had the chance to meet several journalists, discover Claude Schmitz's film The Other Laurens at the Directors' Fortnight, and attend the cocktail reception organized by WBImages and the Centre du Cinéma in honor of the Francophone Belgian presence.

The highlight of their stay was the famous red carpet walk, a glamorous moment, where they attended the screening of Wes Anderson's latest film, Android City, in the presence of a procession of stars.

With this initiative, Wallonie-Bruxelles Images, Wallonie-Bruxelles International, and Mastercard aimed to give young Belgian talents a taste of the Cannes Film Festival and encourage them to pursue their passion. We now hope that these four young actors will soon return to the Croisette with a film in the selection! "Mon Premier Cannes" provided Sophie Breyer, Gianni Guettaf, Amine Hamidou, and Elsa Houben with an emotionally rich and discovery-filled experience that will forever be etched in their memories. We wish them a bright future!

A big thank you to Mastercard for this incredible opportunity and for their support towards young talents.
