Davi Kopenawa, a well-known spokesperson for the struggle of the Yanomami in Brazil, has been fighting the exploitation of his people's land since the 1970s. While their territory seemed to be protected since the1990s, the habitat of the Amazonian tribes is now threatened more than ever. The shaman must once again travel the world to make Westerners aware of the inevitable fate that their way of life will lead to what the Yanomami have prevented for thousands of years: the collapse of the sky. Holding up the sky takes us alongside this ambassador, into the skies and the forest that protect his people, and to the places that threaten them.
