Several Belgian films at the RIDM festival

The RIDM - "Rencontres internationales du documentaire de Montréal festival" has selected several Belgian films for its program.

The Montreal International Documentary Festival (RIDM) is one of North America’s leading documentary film festivals. Each year, the RIDM presents more than 150 Canadian and international documentaries. Its industry event, Forum RIDM, is Quebec’s only documentary forum.

This year's program features several Belgian selections:

Mambar Pierrette by Rosine Mbakam has been selected in the International Feature Film Competition. The film is produced by Tândor Productions and internationally distributed by The Party Films Sales.

Under the rain of Douala, Mambar, resigned, empties the water in her house with the help of her children. When she arrived in her tailoring shop, the same ordeal began again. In turn, the customers parade in her shop with only one word in the mouth, the preparation of the return to school. Mambar has not yet bought anything for her children. Her days are long, her children's expectations are high, but will the rain in Douala let the sun shine on Mambar and her children?

Meanwhile, Human not Human by Natan Castay will be part of the Panorama - Horizons section. The film is produced by Médiadiffusion and internationally distributed by CBA.

Let's also note the presence of Bye Bye Tiberias by Lina Soualem, which will be the opening film of the festival. The film is produced by Altitude 100 and internationally distributed by Lightdox.

The festival will take place from November 15 to November 26, 2023, in Montreal.
