[Translate to EN:] "Silent Panorama" sélectionné à Karlovy Vary

Le court métrage d'animation de Nicolas Piret fait partie de la programmation 2024 de Karlovy Vary

The Karlovy Vary International Film Festival is the largest film festival in the Czech Republic and the most prestigious in Central and Eastern Europe. It is one of the oldest A-category film festivals. Each year, it selects around 200 films from all over the world. For film professionals, KVIFF is considered the most important event in all of Central and Eastern Europe.

Silent Panorama by Nicolas Piret, produced by Zorobabel, has been selected for the Imagina section of the festival. The animated short film had also recently been selected for competition at the Annecy Festival and the 2024 Sydney Film Festival.

In the midst of nature, at the foot of a cliff, two campers intrigued by external noises traverse deserted landscapes with a lamp in hand. Crackling, trickling, and other sounds bring these places to life, home to a silent fauna, almost invisible yet unmistakably present. This film was drawn and animated single-handedly on a single sheet of paper as a performance piece.

Also noteworthy is the presence of two French-speaking Belgian co-productions: Bye Bye Tiberias by Lina Soualem (Altitude 100) and Julie Keeps Quiet by Leonardo Van Dijl (Les Films du Fleuve), both selected in the Horizons section.

The festival takes place from June 28 to July 6, 2024.
