Four films in competition in Angers!

The Premiers Plans festival in Angers has unveiled the program of its 35th edition. It includes four Wallonia-Brussels films in competition and one featured in the "previews" section.

Among the films selected for the 35th edition of the Premiers Plans festival in Angers, there are five Franco-Belgian films, four of which are in competition and three are co-productions. Valentina Maurel's film, I Have Electric Dreams, produced by Wrong Men, will feature in the European Feature Film Competition.

Three short films produced by La Cambre's production workshop are also selected in competition. The Dog’s Leash by Nicolas Piretand Balaclava by Youri Orekhoff will feature in the Plans animés européens section. Passagers by Célia Hardy is selected in the Chenaplans 9+ section.

Emmanuelle Nicot's first feature film, Love According to Dalva, is selected out of competition in the previews section.

The Belgian film director Mathieu Volpe is also selected to participate in the Ateliers d’Angers which are aimed at supporting the development of first feature films. The film director develops his first feature film with the film production company Les Films du Fleuve. Red Gold is a film that is somewhere between documentary and fiction, for which Mathieu Volpe has been selected to take part in the workshop.

Also of note is the presence of three co-productions in non-competitive sections. In this same preview section, features Alma Viva by Cristèle Alves Meira (produced by Entre chien et loup) and Normale by Olivier Babinet (produced by Tarantula Belgium). Finally, the short film produced by Frakas, Earwig by Lucile Hadzihalilovic is selected in the Vertiges section.

The 35th edition of the Premiers Plan festival in Angers was held from January 21 to 29, 2023.
