The complete programme for the 75th edition of the Locarno Festival was unveiled this Wednesday 6 July. It includes two majority and one minority Wallonia-Brussels productions.

This Wednesday 6 July was unvield the selection of the 75th edition of the Locarno Film Festival.  These includes Valentina Maurel's film Tengo Sueños Electricos (Wrong Men), which will have its world premiere in Concorse Internazionale !

Eva can't stand the fact that her mother wants to renovate the house and get rid of the cat, which, disoriented since the divorce, pees everywhere. Eva wants to go and live with her father, who, disoriented like the cat, is going through a second adolescence. But like someone who crosses an ocean of adults without knowing how to swim, Eva will also discover the rage that gnaws at him, and that without knowing it, she has inherited from him

In animation, Yuku and the Himalayan Flower by Arnaud Demuynck & Rémi Durin (Artémis Produtions, La Boîte,... production ; New Europe Sale Films) will be presented in the Locarno Kids: Screenings section. Another really good selection for the film that had its world premiere at the Annecy festival less than a month ago.

On top of the highest mountains lives a plant of eternal light, the Himalayan flower. Yuku wants to give it to her grandmother. Her journey is full of obstacles. She has to cross the little bridge of fear guarded by the wolf! Through her music and songs, Yuku makes many friends, the most precious ingredient for succeeding in the adventure of life.

We also salute the selection in Concorse Internazionale of the French-Belgian-Italian co-production The Adventures of Gigi the Law by Alessandro Comodin (Michigan Films; Shellac).

Somewhere in northeastern Italy, not far from the sea, the plain. This is a column, that of a country policeman, my uncle Gigi.

Finally, in the Piazza Grande, there are two films that benefited from the RTBF-FWB Special Fund :

You will not have my hate by Kilian Riedhof  produced by FraKas Production

Still in shock, between the media frenzy and infinite grief, Antoine has to confront his new reality.

Last Dance by Delphine Lehericey (Need Productions)

A contemplative retiree, Germain, suddenly finds himself a widower at 75. He doesn’t even have time to catch his breath before his family interferes in his daily life: constant visits and calls, pre-arranged meals... His life becomes timed like a Swiss watch! But Germain’s mind is elsewhere. Honoring a promise made to his wife, he is propelled into the heart of a contemporary dance creation...

Several films from French-speaking Belgian production companies will be screened at Locarno, such as Bowling Saturne by Patricia Mazuy (Les Films du Fleuve) and Il Pataffio by Francesco Lagi (Umedia) in Concorse Internazionale.

Founded in 1946, the Locarno Film Festival is one of the oldest film festivals in the world. It is a film festival dedicated to auteur cinema that takes place every summer in the Swiss-Italian town of Locarno. Created with the aim of unearthing new trends, the Locarno festival has often recognised before others the genius of young directors who have gone on to become the leaders of their generations.

The Locarno Film Festival will take place from 3 to 13 August.
